Jojoba Oil
“Nature’s Moisturizer”
Jojoba pronounced (ho-ho-ba) is a shrub that is native to Southern Arizona, Southern California and Northwestern Mexico. Jojoba oil is the liquid that comes from the seed of the Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) plant. Often referred to as “nature’s moisturizer” for its ability to mimic the skin’s sebum. Virgin jojoba oil contains vitamins and minerals essential for healthy skin and hair, including vitamin E and B- complex. It’s anti- bacterial, anti-inflammatory and non-toxic properties make it a powerhouse multi-purpose oil. Chemical free and fast absorbing. It’s gentle enough to be used on even the most sensitive skin.
The chemical structure of organic jojoba oil is different from that of other vegetable oils because it’s a polyunsaturated wax. As a wax, jojoba oil for the face and body is especially useful because it protects the skin, providing hydration control and moisture for the skin.
Its chemical composition also makes it one of the more stable oils around. While other oils tend to go rancid lightning-fast, jojoba oil typically has a much longer shelf life.
